How does ShiftManager Work?
ShiftManager is a Windows based management tool for administering roster systems and assisting with roster design. Its development was customer driven by the inability of spreadsheet applications to deliver the required functionality in the areas of long-term rostering, leave management and reporting. The software combines discrete roster tasks called activities with a real time roster work pattern generator, a continuous time line and a database that records all roster transactions and produces smart formattable reports. ShiftManager captures roster changes in a 'Change Log', has easy to use editing tools and dialogs, sophisticated leave management tools and multi-level controlled access.
Can it be networked?
Yes, networking is great because it provides central control, long term visibility for stakeholders and minimises the need for hard copies of the roster. Network copies also have special login provisions and user privilege options. Where networking is not possible, you can use the copy on the PC as the control copy and print and distribute uncontrolled copies of the roster.
Is it Secure?
ShiftManager provides separate access levels and passwords to protect roster data and records, and ensure that the roster is only edited by authorised people. All users have viewer access; however, they cannot change data without appropriate access. PTO can also customise the software to provide additional access levels or individual login accounts.
What about reports?
ShiftManager produces a range of smart reports and data on all roster transactions which can be copied and pasted saved, printed or exported to other programs. It also provides note taking facilities to verify and support the data.
What about editing?
ShiftManager makes editing easy with features such as context sensitive mouse button functionality, smart editing tools, multiple activity codes and automatic leave mark-up systems. The right mouse button provides quick access for data entry, reports, navigation and notes.
What about crew management?
ShiftManager provides Crewing or Manning lists, lets you add or subtract people, or move them around.
Is the program supported?
Yes, ShiftManager has a 90 day warranty and support agreementscan be arranged from as little as 10% of the licence cost. If you do experience difficulties check the On line help, or User guide and if this doesn't help email us and attach the related roster (*.ros) and environment (*.env) files.
What about past employees?
ShiftManager retains the records and data of retired people or those no longer on the roster, which enables auditing or working out who was on shift at the time a certain event or incident occurred.
Can Holidays be tracked?
Holidays such as Public Holidays, long breaks or Picnic Days can be included in the roster, displayed on the time line, on the status bar on mouse over, and can be tracked in reports. You can even set up interstate holidays for national rosters
How Compatible is it?
Reports and data can be saved, printed, copied, and exported into other windows applications and can be customised to communicate with other applications, such as SAP.
Can ShiftManager be Customised?
PTO can customise the software to include additional features. For example, you may require extra reports or graphics, an interface with another program or want the roster deployed on the Internet.
