ShiftManager is a complete shiftwork management package with the tools and techniques necessary for effectively managing shiftwork work and minimising administration costs.

Software Layout

  • The Icons and menu bar are located at the top of the page
  • The continuous Time line at the top of the page runs from left to right and includes dates, public holidays, events and roster cycle numbers
  • The Names window on the LHS contains the names of roster participants and reports on personal details and groups
  • The Roster window - contains roster patterns for all groups
  • Activity totals are displayed shown at the bottom of the roster
  • The Status bar contains details of personnel and their shifts and grades etc. on mouse over.
  • Scroll bars are available in the Main, Names and Line totals windows and in larger dialogs and reports.
  • The Names window has a horizontal scroll bar, and the Main and Line totals windows have vertical and horizontal scroll bars. 

Roster views

ShiftManager provides three separate views of the roster.

  • Active or default view - Showing the current roster in the Main window and the names of current roster participants in the Names window.
  • Group view - Shows a single group in the Main window and the names of the participants of that group in the Names window.
  • Retired view - Shows the data of past participants in the Main window and the names of retired participants in the Names window.

The active view is the default when ShiftManager opens.
To display the Active view, click on the People icon on the toolbar, or the 'All' option on 'View Group' menu.

 

Group Views are available from the 'View Group' option on the View menu.

To open the 'Retired' view of the roster, click the Retired Persons icon (face with the line through it) adjacent to the People icon on the Toolbar or the 'Retired' option on the 'View' menu.

 

Security features

ShiftManager has several features to protect roster data and unauthorized access:

  • User access control with multilevel usernames, passwords and privileges
  • Logon features such as Windows Authentication and Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) for retrieving logons from client databases
  • Transfers data to People management software such as SAP
  • Network capable with Single Update Access, restricting editing to one User at a time?
